Scholarships and Loans
Consider searching for non-federal low interest loan options in addition to federal loans.
Gladstone Scholarship and Loan Foundation offers NO interest loans to GHS grads. See your guidance counselor to apply. There are also private organizations that offer loans in addition to scholarships. One example is the P.E.O educational Loan Fund. Also, ask your parents if any organizations they are memberships of have loan or scholarship opportunities. Do not over borrow. Student loans should only be used for tuition, fees, room and board. It's much better in the long run, if you work or find other means to pay most or at least half of your costs. Students who borrow extra sometimes use it for expenses unrelated to education. Remember, it's a loan you must pay back. If it's unsubsidized, you will be charged interest even while you are in school. Taking out extra money could really put a crimp in how well you can live when you finish school. Try the document that Gladstone students created. |
Get the FAFSA done as soon as you can. The more time you have to apply and consider the costs and benefits of your choices, the better your ability to get the best deal
